Pyrite for money: where to keep it at home and in the shop

Pyrite is called fool’s gold for its colour, and in both Vastu and feng shui it is the stone people reach for when the subject is money and business. This is where it is traditionally placed.

At home

Vastu associates the north with Kubera and the flow of wealth, so a pyrite cluster is usually kept on a shelf or table along the north wall of the living room. Feng shui uses the south-east corner of the home for the same purpose. Either is fine. Keep it somewhere you see it every day, not inside a cupboard.

In a shop or office

Shopkeepers keep a piece in or beside the cash box, or on the billing counter facing the entrance. At a desk, keep it on the side you write with, next to the things you work with: laptop, order book, phone.

What people pair it with

Citrine is the usual partner, which is why our Shree Money pyramid sets both in one piece. A pyrite bracelet carries the same idea when you are out of the office.

Care

Pyrite is an iron mineral and does not like moisture. Never wash it or leave it in a damp room. Dust it with a dry, soft brush. Cleanse it with smoke or sound. If a piece starts to look dull, a dry toothbrush brings the shine back.

Crystals are sold as spiritual and decorative items. What is written here describes tradition and our own practice in the studio. It is not a substitute for medical, financial or professional advice.
